5. Chapel Windows
Heirloom and found white textiles; hand and machine sewn, 2025

Constructed from inherited and collected white fabrics: linens, tablecloths, garments, and lace. Many passed down through generations. Inspired by a quilt made by the artist’s great-grandmother and named after the traditional Chapel Windows pattern1, the piece is both a continuation and a reconstruction of familial memory.

Repair echoes the quiet devotion embedded in domestic labor. Mended and reassembled by hand and machine, the quilt holds within it a lineage of care, stitches as evidence of use, love, and survival. Chapel Windows functions as both an object and a gesture: a soft architecture of memory, built from what remains.
